The history of farmers’ movements is very old and at different times in all parts of the world, farmers have protested for changes in agricultural policy so that their condition can improve. In the present era, farmers’ movements are increasing at a fast pace in India, the main reason for this is that the economic condition of the farmers is getting weaker day by day and they are getting trapped in a web of debt because in the present era, the cost of agriculture is increasing and the income is decreasing. This is the reason why incidents of suicide among farmers are increasing. On the other hand, people are struggling to change the agricultural policy.

Kisan Andolan 2.0 has started and in this sequence, farmers from Punjab have left for Delhi Tractor Rally. These farmers are preparing to enter Haryana through Amritsar Delhi-National Highway. Due to this, tight security has been done at the Shabhum Border in Ambala. The border has been completely sealed.
Going to tell you why farmers are on the path of agitation again. The biggest demand of the farmers is regarding the minimum support price from the government. Farmers have a total of 12 main demands. Regarding these demands, a meeting will be held with Union Minister Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal and farmer leaders on Monday evening in Sector 26, Chandigarh. Let us tell you that the farmers have announced a march to Delhi on 13th February.
12 Demands of farmers
1: The government should enact a law to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) for all crops.
2: A complete loan waiver scheme for farmers and labourers should be implemented.
3: Re-implement the Land Acquisition Act 2013 across the country, ensuring written consent from farmers and compensation four times the collector rate.
4:Punishment to the culprits of the Lakhimpur Kheri massacre and justice to the affected farmers.
5:Withdraw from the World Trade Organization and ban all free trade agreements.
6:To provide pensions to farmers and agricultural labourers.
7:Compensation to the families of farmers killed during the Delhi agitation and job to one member of the family.
8:The government should repeal the Electricity Amendment Bill 2020.
9:By linking it with farming, providing 200 days of employment per year and a daily wage of Rs 700 under MNREGA.
10:Strict penalties on companies manufacturing fake seeds, pesticides and fertilizers and improvement in seed quality.
11:Formation of a National Commission for chilli, turmeric and other spices.
12: Ensuring the rights of the indigenous people over water, forests and land by preventing companies from looting their land.
What do farmer leaders say ?
Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, who came out with a tractor from Beas of Punjab, while talking to News18, said that the government has not yet been able to make a law regarding MSP. At present, there is a meeting in Chandigarh today and let’s see what outcome comes out of this meeting.

Farmers will hold the fourth round of meeting today with Union Ministers for their demands. Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher said that today is our sixth day at Shambhu border and the government has asked for some time and said that it will discuss the matter.
