About Asian Games 2023
India has won 53 medals in the 2023 Asian Games till October 1, including 13 gold in shooting, one in cricket, one in tennis, one in squash and one in equestrian.
India has made its mark at the 2023 Games. It has brought a total of 55 medals to the country for excellence in specific sports. On Day 9, India started with 2 bronze medals each in the speed skating 3000m relay.
India’s medal tally now stands at 55 with 13 gold, 21 silver and 21 bronze. The athletics competitions will be held from September 29 to October 5. On 1 October, India won one gold medal each in shooting and cricket, tennis and equestrian.
Avinash Sable became the first Indian to win a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase event. It was India’s first gold medal in athletics as Avinash Sable broke the previous Asian Games record by clocking 8:19.50 seconds.
List of Indian players who have won gold medals
Shooting: Indian athletes Prithviraj Thondaiman, Kinan Chennai and Zoravar Singh Sandhu won gold medals in the men’s trap shooting event on Sunday. India’s trio of Divyansh Singh Panwar, Rudranksh Patil and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar won the gold by scoring 1893.7 points.
Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Seema and Shiva Narwal continued India’s shooting success with gold in the men’s 10m air pistol team event.
Tennis: Rogan Bopanna and Ruduja Bhosale won the mixed doubles gold after beating Chinese Taipei 2-6 6-3 10-4.
Shooting: Sift Kaur Chamra wins gold and sets world record.
Shooting: Manu Bakar, Isha Singh, Ritam Sangwan win gold in women’s 25m pistol
Shooting: Aishwari Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran secured India’s 5th shooting gold at Asian Games 2023 with a world record score of 1769.
Shooting: Balak Kulia wins gold in women’s 10m air pistol.
Hockey: India beat Pakistan 10-2 in Men’s Hockey A category
Equestrian: After a 41-year wait, Anush Agarwala, Hridhai Vipul Cheda, Sudipti Hajela and Divyakriti Singh won gold for India in equestrian.
Cricket: India women’s team beat Sri Lanka in Asian Games final to win their first gold medal.
Athletics: Avinash Sable became the first Indian to win a gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase.

Asian Games 2023: Other medals for India
Ahika Mukherjee and Sudhirtha Mukherjee won the bronze medal in table tennis women’s doubles. They lost 4-3 against North Korea’s Suyong Cha and Sukyong Pak to win India’s first ever table tennis medal.
Aryan Paul, Anand Kumar, Siddhant and Vikram clocked an incredible time of 4:10.128 to clinch the bronze medal in the men’s speed skating 3000m relay.
Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu and Arathi Kasthuri won bronze in women’s speed skating 3000m.
Aditi Ashok won the silver medal for India in the golf tournament on Sunday. Manisha Khir, Preethi Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari won the silver medal in the women’s trap team category.
Sarabjot Singh and Divya won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.
Kiran Balyan bagged India’s first medal in the athletics event with a throw of 17.32 meters to clinch the bronze medal in the shot put.
Esha Singh won silver medal in women’s 10m air pistol event.
In the men’s doubles final, Saket Maineni and Ramkumar Ramanathan lost 4-6 4-6 to secure the silver medal. India won silver in women’s 10m air pistol team event. Equestrian Anush Aggarwal won bronze in individual dressage.
Roshibina Devi Naurem won the silver medal in the women’s 60kg wushu final. Esha Singh won silver medal in women’s 25m air pistol individual event.
Sailing, Neha Thakur wins silver medal in women’s dinghy event. The women’s 10m air rifle team won a silver medal and the individual athletes won three bronze medals.
With two silver and three bronze medals, India’s rowing team displayed consistency and teamwork. Men’s lightweight double sculls and men’s eight categories added silver medals to the tally.
Bronze medals came from Men’s Pairs, Men’s Fours and Men’s Quadruple Sculls events.
The Indian women’s team won in Asian Games the bronze medal in the squash competition and Aishwari Tomar won the silver medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 position category.
