Chandigarh sets Guinness World Record for the Largest Human Image of waving the National Flag.

Chandigarh University students joined hands with NID Foundation and created a Guinness World Record for the largest Human Image in National Flag. Its photos have been shared by Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi.

Strengthening Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and taking it internationally to mark India’s 75th Independence Day, the NID Foundation and Chandigarh University on Saturday launched the ‘world’s largest tricolor’ campaign. Set a Guinness World Record for creating the ‘largest human image. Waving the National Flag’ when 5,885 students from Chandigarh University and other schools and colleges, along with volunteers from UT’s NID Foundation and other dignitaries gathered at the Chandigarh Cricket Stadium for flag making and created history in the heart. City Beautiful.

In all, over 25,000 people, including youth and citizens of Chandigarh, filled the air of patriotism which included Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh UT, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi, Dharam Pal, Advisor to Administrator, Chandigarh. Union Territory; Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh; Sarabjit Kaur, Mayor Chandigarh; Parveer Ranjan, DGP Chandigarh UT, NID Chief Patron and Chancellor of Chandigarh University S Satnam Singh Sandhu, Prof Himani Sood, Founder NID Foundation and other top officials of UT Administration.

The UAE held the record for the largest human image of a national flag waving in 2017 with 4130 people. However, India has comfortably broken the record, the official said. Dangrikar also handed over a copy of the GWR certificate to the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory, Banwarilal Purohit and S Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chief Patron, NID Foundation and Chancellor, Chandigarh University and congratulated them.

Speaking on the occasion, Banwarilal Purohit said that with the successful creation of world records created by Chandigarh University and NID Foundation, Chandigarh has given a great message to the whole world on the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day.

On the occasion, six NGOs were conferred with Karam Yoddha Awards for distinguished social service in their respective fields. These included Harjit Singh Sabharwal for Tera Hi Tera Mission Hospital, Prof (Dr) Surinder Pal Singh Oberoi for Sarbat Da Bhala NGO, Gurmeet Singh Sodi for Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji Bhairon Majra Wala;Asha Katoch, MD and CEO for Indigenous Resources India Development, Vineet Joshi for Joshi Foundation, and Pooja Bakshi for Women and Child Welfare Society. In addition, the Youth Icon Awards were presented to eminent Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt for his outstanding achievements in the Olympics as well as Indian actress Isha Rikhi for making the country proud in the entertainment industry.
