There are 5 assembly constituencies under the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency, namely Loni, Muradnagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Dhaulana. 72 percent of the population here is Hindu and 25 percent is Muslim. In the 2014 elections, 2357553 voters took part, of which 43 per cent were women.
Who won the 2009 elections?
Delimitation took place in 2009. Some part of Hapur came to Meerut Lok Sabha and some part to Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat was formed by merging Loni assembly constituency. For the first time in 2009, elections were held for Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. At that time, the then national president of BJP Rajnath Singh contested elections from here. He became the first MP by defeating the then sitting MP, Surendra Prakash Goyal of Congress, by more than 90 thousand votes

The population of Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency is more than 50 lakh. According to the caste equation, about 70 percent of the population here is Hindu while about 25 percent is Muslim. Dalits and Muslims have been quite decisive in Ghaziabad. There are also Brahmin, Vaishya, Gurjar, Thakur, Punjabi and Yadav voters in the district.
BJP won 62 out of 80 seats
In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP won 62 out of 80 seats in UP. Its ally Apna Dal Sonelal had won two seats. Apart from this, the BJP had to face defeat on 16 seats. Of these, BSP is on 10 seats, Samajwadi Party is on five seats and Sonia Gandhi of Congress is MP from Rae Bareli. However, later BJP won the by-elections held on Rampur and Azamgarh Lok Sabha seats, after which now 14 seats are left on which there are non-BJP MPs.
When were the elections held in the year 2019?
The Election Commission had announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections on March 10, 2019. The Election Commission had announced that the 2019 elections would be conducted in 7 phases. These elections ran from 11 April to 19 May. The counting of votes took place on 23 May.
