Why do we Celebrate Hindi Diwas?

Hindi Diwas or National Day is celebrated every year on September 14 to mark the adaptation of Hindi. Hindi is considered an official language by the constituent assembly on September 14, 1999.
Our first prime minister, Jawarharlal Nehru, decided to celebrate 14 Sep as a National Hindi Diwas.
However, world Hindi Day 2020 is observed on January 10. World Hindi Day was first celebrated by our former prime minister, ManMohan Singh to promote the Hindi Language across the world.
World Hindi Day History
The first World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur, Maharashtra on 10 January 1975, which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Mauritius Prime Minister Seewosagur Ramgoolam was the chief guest of the first conference. It was attended by 122 delegates from 30 countries.
About HIndi Language
Hindi language got his name from the Persians word Hind. its meaning is the Land of the Indus river . Hindi is also spoken spoken in other countries like Nepal, United States, Mauritius & South Africa.

Hindi is one of the widely spoken language across the world after English and Mandarian. As a linguistic Variety Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Hindi is also a direct descendant of an early form of Vedic Sanskrit.
